Iran's armed forces chief of staff warned Gulf countries that providing assistance to the US military would amount to participating in US military operations. The warning came amid a war that began February 28 after US-Israeli attacks on Iran and Iranian retaliatory strikes.

Iran's armed forces chief of staff, Ali Abdollahi, warned Gulf countries on Wednesday that any assistance or facilitation provided to the US military would be considered participation in the US military operation, according to Iran's Mehr news agency. Abdollahi said it seemed unlikely that so many military aircraft, particularly refuelling aircraft, could be present at regional bases without the knowledge of host countries. The warning comes after war between Iran and the United States broke out on February 28 following US-Israeli attacks on Iran, which responded with missile and drone strikes including on US bases across the region.
