Pakistan conducted precision aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations in Afghanistan in response to attempted drone attacks from its neighbor, Information Minister Atauallah Tarar said. Pakistan described the strikes as limited to military objectives linked to the attempted attacks.

Pakistan's Information Minister Atauallah Tarar said on Thursday (September 24, 2026) that the country carried out precision aerial and drone strikes on 10 locations across Afghanistan. He said the strikes were in response to recent attempted drone attacks from Afghanistan a day earlier.
Tarar described the strikes as deliberate, precise, calibrated and proportionate, and said they were strictly limited to identified military objectives directly linked to the attempted attacks against Pakistan. He said Pakistan acted in exercise of its sovereign right to self-defence.
A day earlier, Pakistan shot down eight drones after they entered the country's airspace from Afghanistan, security sources said.
