Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said on Tuesday that the FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have warned him of a new credible threat to his life. Pannun, general counsel for Sikhs For Justice, said FBI agents visited him on August 20 and advised him not to travel until the threat is resolved, and to notify the agency in advance if he does travel. He also said the RCMP warned him by telephone on August 25. Pannun said neither law enforcement agency provided details about the uncovered plot. Both agencies did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Separately, a man from India faces sentencing later this year in connection with a 2023 death plot against Pannun.
