The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 quakes devastated the coastal state of La Guaira, where at least 190 buildings collapsed. The previous death toll stood at 6,438. Recovery efforts to find bodies under the rubble are ongoing, and thousands of people left homeless are living in makeshift camps. Authorities have not disclosed how many people remain missing after the disaster. The government has provided 335 homes to quake victims and has pledged to deliver 4,000 homes by the end of the year.
